Meet the Team

June 2018

Carol Hill - Care Services Manager

The Trustees of Hospice Hope are delighted to welcome on board Carol Hill as Care Services Manager at Hope House.
Carol brings with her a lot of very relevant experience and a wonderful personality.  Carol has been working at Hope House since early June, developing the services at Hope House and will be assisting us in extending its opening to three days a week in the near future.

On her time at Hope House so far, Carol said “I was delighted to be offered the position of Care Services Manager here at Hope House. What a wonderful warm welcome I have had from everyone, including the guests, volunteers, staff and trustees. I am originally from Coventry, but have been living in Leicestershire for a number of years now. I have always worked in the community in various roles; within Local Authority Social Services, Education department, NHS and local charities, working with and for people with physical or mental ill health or sensory impairments. I am looking forward to continuing the fantastic work that has begun here at Hope House, taking it forward to open for a third day in the not too distant future.”

Glen Burn - Complementary Therapist

Having grown up in Ashby de la Zouch, I now live in Coalville.  I studied holistic therapies including aromatherapy and reflexology in Sheffield and qualified as a complementary therapist in 1993.  I spent several years at Champneys Springs and later set up my own business.  I took up the role of Complementary Therapist at Hope House in March 2017 and attended a course in Hinckley on aromatherapy and cancer care.  Attending the course gave me further insight as to how aromatherapy can help in this field and indeed how complmentary therapy and the holistic approach can work alongside conventional medicine to aid relaxation and well being.

Christine Randall - Hope House Cook

I grew up locally and have worked in the catering trade for 25 years, with a short break in the middle when my children were small.  I have worked in pubs, restaurants, cafés, canteens and hotels, including Bosworth Hall Hotel.  I have also carried out one-to-one teaching with a young autistic adult. In my spare time I make and decorate cakes for family and friends, including wedding cakes.  I also volunteer as a Girl Guide leader and I am the District Commissioner for this area.
