Meet the Hope House Team

September 2019

Carol Hill - Care Services Manager

Carol brings with her a lot of very relevant experience and a wonderful personality.  Carol has been busy at Hope House developing the services and extending its opening to three days a week with the addition of the Carers Plus project alongside the two guest days.

About her background, Carol said “I am originally from Coventry but have been living in Leicestershire for a number of years now. I have a degree in Occupational Therapy and have always worked in the community in various roles; within Local Authority Social Services, Education department, NHS and local charities, working with and for people with physical or mental ill health or sensory impairments.”

Glen Burn - Complementary Therapist

Glen has an extensive knowledge of complementary therapy having previously running her own business.

Glen said “Having grown up in Ashby de la Zouch, I now live in Coalville.  I studied holistic therapies including aromatherapy and reflexology in Sheffield and qualified as a complementary therapist in 1993.  I spent several years at Champneys Springs and later set up my own business.  I took up the role of Complementary Therapist at Hope House in March 2017 and attended a course in Hinckley on aromatherapy and cancer care.  Attending the course gave me further insight as to how aromatherapy can help in this field and indeed how complementary therapy and the holistic approach can work alongside conventional medicine to aid relaxation and well being.”

Christine Randall - Hope House Cook

Christine has many years of experience in the catering trade covering a wide variety of venues.

About Christine: “I grew up locally and have worked in the catering trade for 25 years. I plan and cook nutritious two course meals for everyone attending Hope House and cater for any dietary requirements the guests may have. In my spare time I make and decorate cakes for family and friends, including wedding cakes.  I also volunteer as a leader with Girl Guiding and I am the District Commissioner for the local area.”
