2016 Ashby Show and Raffle Winners

Ashby Show 2016

Twelve months after the Hospice Hope raffle was launched, the big day arrived when the draw was to be made.

The first prize of a £3,500 luxury holiday and the second prize of a £1,500 European City break had generated a lot of interest.  Hospice Hope worked with Villair of Ashby to put this together.

Under the Hospice Hope leadership of Jim Best, many raffle ticket selling events have been held over the last year, including selling in the streets in Ashby and Coalville, Picnic in the Park at Coalville and many others, as well as individuals selling tickets on behalf of Hospice Hope.

10 July 2016 saw a good number of Hospice Hope volunteers at their marquee to take the final opportunity to sell raffle tickets before the draw at 4.30 pm.

In order to attract people to the gazebo, Trustee Kate Last put together a white elephant stall, which did its job very well.

At 4.30 pm promptly, Mrs Margaret Marriott made the draw with a good crowd watching.  First prize went to Mrs Janet Foy of Ashby and second prize to Mrs Wilks of Hugglescote.  Both winners have been contacted and were delighted to learn of their good fortune.

A presentation to the winners will be made later in the month by Villair’s Managing Director, Carla Cole, Villair partner Mike Richardson and Hospice Hope members.

The Trustees of Hospice Hope would especially like to thank Jim Best for his unstinting effort in making the raffle a success,

The profit from the raffle will go towards Hospice Hope’s Day Hospice, Hope House, which it is expecting to open in January 2017.
