Birthday Celebrations at the Coalville & Whitwick Support Café

Hospice Hope’s Coalville and Whitwick Support Café decided to hold a tea party to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday and our very own 3rd Birthday.

So on Wednesday 29th June, banners and flags were erected around the room, tables decorated with Union Jack cloths and laden with a tea fit for a Queen, sausage rolls, pork pie, crisps, cheese straws, biscuits, strawberries and cream and star of the table a homemade cake decorated like a Union Jack with strawberries, blueberries and cream!  We all tucked into the delicious feast.

One of our guests Joy, was Queen for the afternoon, she really looked very regal in a crown she wore. Most of the ladies wore hats or fascinators, and even kept them on when washing up.

We had a good old fashioned sing song with Jo on the piano, and a toast to the Queen with tea or squash.  It was truly a lovely afternoon and everyone went home very happy.
