Ibstock Community Choir

Ibstock Community Choir and Hospice Hope

Ibstock Community Choir began life as a ‘Come and Sing for Fun’ choir.

It is now an established ladies choir with 30 members who sing a varied repertoire under the leadership of Marion Simpson.  A programme is chosen which reflects the particular occasion, such as the one recently sung for Hospice Hope and is sensitive to the people who benefit from the Support Cafés and eventually the Day Centre, but also songs are sung which are more light hearted to make the audience smile.

I.C.C. perform several concerts each year, however, as well as raising necessary funds for their own choir they are happy to raise funds for charity and following a successful concert on the 25th May which raised £400 for Hospice Hope, the Choir have proposed that Hospice Hope be their nominated charity and therefore anticipate raising more money for them.

Their next concert will be held in The Palace, Ibstock on Friday 9th September 2016 at 7.30pm.

Tickets will be £6.50 and available from members of the choir and Halls shop opposite The Palace. Guests will be Mezzo Soprano Alexandra Gamble, pianist Alex Lamb and (hopefully) ‘Out of the Shadows’ guitar group.

The choir rehearses each Thursday evening 7.00pm – 9.00pm in the Methodist Church on Melbourne Road, Ibstock, where Hospice Hope have a Support Café on a Tuesday afternoon.
