Jim's Tractor Run and Family Fun Day

Jim's Tractor Run and Family Fun Day: Sunday 31st July

There is an old saying that ‘all good things come in threes’ and so they did! Hospice Hope were fortunate to have been involved in Jim’s Tractor Run and Family Fun Day for the second year running and everyone at the charity sincerely thank Jim and Gill Hoult for their continuing support.

How fortunate too that the weather, unlike last year, was superb and the third area of good fortune comes with the amazing support that Hospice Hope received on the day.

A large number of volunteers from the Ashby Rotary Clubs, particularly Ashby Castle Rotary who, through Mark Arjoo, put together a whole team to be at the four entrances to the Bath Grounds, to collect donations instead of entrance fees.

The donations we received was an amazing £1357.63! This includes £70.00 raised by the bottle quiz, run by Frank and Janet Robinson at the Hospice Hope marquee.

Our treasurer, Linda, who had the “privilege” of counting all of this change was amused to find in the buckets 2.71 Euros, 1 Turkish Lira, 10 Francs, 5 Czech korunas, 1 children's hospice fob, 1 lithium battery and 1 washer.  She very much hoped that none of the tractors are missing the washer!

Hospice Hope are eagerly awaiting confirmation that planning permission has been granted for conversion of a domestic property into their Day Hospice, located in peaceful, Griffydam.  We expect ‘Hope House’ to launch in January 2017 and all the monies raised from this event will be put towards the opening of this much-needed service for the people of North West Leicestershire.
