Desford Striders' 25 Hour Relay

Desford Striders: 25 Hour Relay Race at Market Bosworth Park

Saturday 1st July 2017

At 12 noon at Market Bosworth Park a good crowd gathered at the start line for Desford Striders’ 2nd annual 25 hour relay race. Chairman (Andy Ball) and Club President (Steve Norris), complete with the golden baton, got the event underway and set off on the first lap.

Tents and sleeping bags were in evidence among the spectators as some of the runners were planning on spending the whole 25 hours at the park.

Over at the Hospice Hope gazebo, there was information about all of our activities along with volunteer leaflets, with the Club’s main tent displaying a banner on the side for Hospice Hope.  Representatives from the charity were delighted to answer many questions about our work during the event and some of them took part in the last few laps of the relay sporting HH T shirts.

The event was a great success, with requests to keep the information and banners for a further event being held in August.  We’re sure that the runners slept well on Sunday!

Thank you to Desford Striders for all your efforts on our behalf.  Hospice Hope is very grateful for your support.
