Visit to Hope House

Coalville Volunteers visit Hope House

On Thursday 29th June, Leader Linda Mould welcomed volunteers from Hospice Hope’s Coalville and Whitwick Support Café to Hope House, Griffydam.

It was the first time some of the volunteers had visited Hope House, which differs to the charity’s three drop-in Support Cafés by offering pastoral support for the full day, allowing carers to take a much needed break.

The ladies were all impressed by the wonderful facilities and peacefulness of the location.

During the visit, Hope House Complementary Therapist Glen Burn presented Ann Bottomley with a certificate of appreciation from the charity, in recognition of her marvellous fundraising over the past few years.  Every October, Ann runs a hugely popular Coffee Morning at New Lount Bowling Club and at 2016’s event raised over £2,000.  This particular donation was used to fully equip our beautiful therapy room at Hope House and Ann has pledged to support the running of this popular service through future Coffee Mornings.
