Ashby Santa Fun Run and Walk

Ashby Castle Rotary, Ashby Santa Fun Run and Hospice Hope

How fortunate Hospice Hope is to have such wonderful friends and support at the Ashby Castle Rotary!

Once again, we benefited from the Ashby Santa Fun Run and Walk, receiving a cheque for £3,200 – a brilliant sum, that will meet the significant running costs of Hospice Hope.

The cheque was presented to us at the Ashby Castle Rotary’s breakfast meeting on Tuesday 15th January. Whilst it was an excellent morning, even if a little early, there was a touch of sadness, as Alan Booth, the President of Ashby Castle Rotary and one of the originators of the Fun Run, died a very short time ago.  Alan was a long time and loyal friend to Hospice Hope and it was very poignant to receive the cheque from Alan’s wife, Carol and his daughter Jenny.  In addition, Carol and Jenny presented cheques to the value of £725.00 to Hospice Hope from donations at Alan’s funeral.

Hospice Hope had the opportunity to say thank you to everyone at the meeting and outline their exciting plans for 2019.
