Update re site at Swannington
March 4th 2021 The very good news is that this project is “back on track” after being badly affected by the effects of the pandemic, as well as some technical issues that needed to be resolved at the Swannington site. A recent Zoom meeting with Bloors Homes and North West Leicestershire District Council has moved things forward to the point we are reviewing final plans and drawings, which we expect to submit for planning approval shortly. Stewart Shepherd 11th November 2020 Following a meeting held on Tuesday 11th November, attended by representatives from Hospice Hope, Bloor’s Homes and North West Leicestershire District Council, the Charity is pleased to issue the following update. Chair of Hospice Hope, Stewart Shepherd said: “Progress on this project has naturally significantly slowed due to Covid-19, as all parties have been dealing with the effects of the pandemic. Both Bloor’s Homes and our Council remain totally committed to the project and the site at Swannington, which will produce a brand new centre for people from across North West Leicestershire to access our services and those of our partner organisations. There is currently more work to be done at the Swannington site before planning permission can be applied for, but we are all confident that we shall see considerable progress in the new year. As progress is made, Hospice Hope will issue further statements to keep our stakeholders in the picture. On behalf of all the trustees, staff, volunteers and service users at Hospice Hope, we remain extremely grateful to Bloor’s Homes and our Council for their support.”
